Abec7 Bearings or ABEC 9 Bearings – Which are Best for Your Rollerblade?23 May 15 - 01:10 Many skaters prefer to use ABEC rated rollerblade bearings but without knowing their real worth. So, they will have to learn about the manufacturing standard of these bearings that make them categorized as precision bearings. Every feature starting from dimensional control to tolerance ability of the ABEC bearings are governed by the Annular Bearing Engineers’ Committee (ABEC) system before given with any of the five rating choices (1, 3, 5, 7, and 9) available in the ABEC scale. Each number in the scale corresponds to a specific level of tightness and perfection of balls fitted in the inner and outer line of the bearing. The lower the ABEC rating number of your chosen bearings, the less tight and perfect will be the components of bearing meant for tolerance. In other words a skate bearing receives a higher ABEC rating only after it is confirmed to be manufactured with a higher degree of precision as mentioned in the ABEC standard system. Most of all general skate bearings are rated ABEC 1 for their low level of precision. However, ABEC 3 bearings indicate standard precision, ABEC 5 indicates higher precision, ABEC 7 bearings imply super precision and ABEC 9 bearings stand for super high precision. Be sure that the ABEC rating improves as the standard of manufacturing of skate bearings increases. For every skateboard owner, ABEC 5 bearings and ABEC 7 bearings are two of the most preferred varieties. These bearings don’t affect the speed of rollerblade much.
